Based out of Halifax, Sean leads the firm’s Atlantic Canada corporate restructuring and insolvency practice.

Overcoming financial problems is difficult and often stressful for companies and their owners. Sean works with companies in these crisis situations by helping them identify their restructuring options and develop a comprehensive plan to allow them to gain control of their financial situation and move forward as best they can.

Sean has over 20 years of restructuring and insolvency advisory experience with organizations of all sizes, across a broad range of industries including retail, manufacturing, construction, real estate, forestry, fishing, oil and gas, and agriculture.

Sean has particular expertise in conducting business reviews, operational improvements, refinancing, distressed M&A, informal workouts with creditors as well as acting in formal insolvency proceedings under the Bankruptcy and Insolvency Act and Companies’ Creditors Arrangement Act (CCAA).

In addition to debtor companies, Sean also regularly advises and had acted on behalf of major lending institutions including most of Canada’s Chartered banks and other lenders in debt recovery situations.

Sean received his Bachelor of Commerce in Accounting from Saint Mary’s University. He is a Chartered Professional Accountant, a Chartered Insolvency and Restructuring Professional, and a Licensed Insolvency Trustee.

Outside of the office, Sean’s spare time is often spent with his family enjoying outdoor activities such as running, biking or paddling on one of Nova Scotia’s many lakes.
